Nate Willis

CFO

Nate Willis has served as the CFO of RTC Communications since February of 2021, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in finance to RTC’s executive leadership team. A lifelong resident of Petersburg, IN, Willis spent the first 17 years of his career in various finance roles at a Fortune 500 company right here in Southern Indiana. He started as an accounting intern and worked his way up through management and leadership roles across multiple divisions, eventually leading the finance team and serving on the executive team of a $200M division at Kimball International.

Willis spent the first few years of his career in internal auditing, where he developed a strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, inventory management, financial statement analytics, and more. He stood out as a high-potential talent, which led to a controller position within the company’s Logistics Division. Willis was responsible for all financial aspects of the organization, including $28M in fleet and distribution center assets, $30M of freight spend, and developing and driving the organization’s strategic direction. He led several large-scale projects, including distribution center consolidation, competitive bid pricing, incentive compensation implementation, and dedicated fleet modeling, resulting in over $4M of ongoing annual cost savings during his five years in the role.

Willis’ reputation, strong work ethic, and pattern of success led to a director position within the organization’s $110M hospitality furniture division of the organization. While there, he served as a member of the division’s leadership team, helping to set the course and strategic direction of the company. During his time there, he helped lead the company’s growth from $110M in annual revenues to over $200M. Willis was responsible for over $20M of inventory across multiple countries, led the startup of a $14M domestic manufacturing facility, transitioned three manufacturing plants and a second brand onto a unified ERP system, led the due diligence and integration of a $20M acquisition, and led initiatives that resulted in over $10M of annual cost savings.

Willis has always had a passion for technology and finance, making the RTC CFO role a perfect intersection for his skills in finance and interest in progressive technology. He has led finance teams and been a trusted business partner while working with executive teams to drive P&L improvement throughout his career. Willis brings his visionary thinking, passion for growth, and drive for process improvement to RTC at a critical time in the company’s history. He started with RTC in February 2021 and is responsible for all financial aspects of the organization, including financial policies and objectives, investment strategies, managing strategic vendor relationships, and setting strategic direction for the finance team and organization.

Willis graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southern Indiana, where he was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship.

In his spare time, Willis enjoys spending time with his family, working on cars, doing anything outdoors, and coaching youth sports where his three young children play nearly year-round in various athletics.
